# What password convention do I need?

If you are setting a root or admin password for your virtual machine, this must follow the below convention:

* Have between 6 and 64 characters
* Have one upper case letter
* Have one lower case letter
* Have one special symbol Example: !@#\$%^&\*
* Have one digit

If you are setting a password for your account, this must follow the below convention:

* Have at least 8 characters
* All Unicode and ASCII characters are aloud
* The email address must not be present on this list of compromised emails.
